How does the new google earth feature "street view" work?

like how did they get all the pictures for it?|||It's actually really neat - they sent Google cars down the streets with panoramic cameras attached and drove slowly. I'm really not joking. They haven't done us yet, but I'm hoping to run out and catch them!|||people design these via photoshop etc. or from other pictures from satellites, these are not recent of over occurring pictures there old ones. some people have but hidden images in them look it up on google, to see some of them, i hope this helped%26gt;|||they took a van and drove down major streets with a camera.
