Where does google earth get it's street view pictures from?

When I do my parents address you can see their cars in the driveway and the roofers outside! How does google get those pictures?

They aren't current- they are from the summer

(that's when the roofers were there)

Thanks :)|||Google Earth is not Street View. Here's how they get the images for Street View:

As is the case with all of Google Maps in general, it's always a bit old, and not current..|||Satellite. they only update the pictures once a year it is not live.|||a satellite
