Is there something similiar to Google Earth?

I was wondering if there was something similiar to Google Earth that had like a street view. If there is anything that is like Google Earth I would like to know. Thanks in advance|||not that I am aware of google earth took some time to make and google is the biggest engine so the next thing in the future would be more advancements to google earth views.

Why are toll booth prices around nyc cost so much?

So i was on google earth street view and i was at a toll booth just outside of the bridge that connects Staten Island and Brooklyn (sorry i cant remember the name) and i saw a sign that said cars $9.00!! why is it so expensive?|||you're talking about the verazzano. Now, you have to remember that it's free one way. however, the tunnels, bridges, and MTA are all insanely expensive and crappy. despite the fact that the prices are insane, MTA is still billions in the red, they cut back service, raise prices, and come up with all kinds of crazy ways to fund themselves. They've talked about pricing cars going through the tunnels and bridges based on weight, so SUVs would pay more than a smaller car. It's bizarre! A lot of it has to do with politics, corruption, the unions, etc. Those MTA jerks are some of the laziest, rudest people I've ever met. All they do is sit in their booth all day and scream at people that ask a question. I believe last year, when gas prices were $4+ a gallon, MTA had record numbers of rides on the train, yet still lost billions of dollars! These people are corrupt fools that couldn't run an ice cream stand. Paterson and Bloomberg aren't much smarter. MTA, the unions, paterson, and bloomberg will all get what they deserve some day. What goes around comes around.|||It's a very long , very fascinating story that began in a very ordinary way : Somebody wanted to build a bridge and rather than raise taxes they sold bonds to pay for the construction of it

Tolls were charged to pay off the debt that was incurred by the sale of the bonds and an Authority was set up to administer all of it,.

In theory ,once the bonds were paid off the tolls should have been removed..But then the politician and the unions said harrumph harrumph harrumph, there is lot of easy money out there for the taking and as long as we keep making up bs reasons to justify why we should keep collecting tolls we can get away with this kind of legal public larceny

I remember sitting in traffic once on the Whitestone trying to calculate how much money these clowns were raking in and it occurred to me that with al,that money rather than repair the old bridges they could take 5 years to build a new bridge right next to it , tear the old one down , use the new one for 20 years and repeat the process in perpetuity .

If you want to read the best book that I can think of on the subject read Power Broker [A biography of Robert Moses] by Robert Caro|||Because politicians decide, and then they get to cross for free in government vehicles

PS its the Verrazano-Narrows bridge|||The tolls support infrastructure maintenance. Maintenance costs in NYC are very high, especially with the Wicks Law.|||because politicians need more money to fuel their private jets.

Google Earth used to show Street names. I now can't fint the setting for this.?

I used to be able to see all road names, They've disappeared. if it is in "layers" it isn't Roads or Street View. Anyone know how to switch this facility on?|||You may want to read these posts: http://groups.google.com/group/earth-fre鈥?/a>|||Thanks Norsey, I was trying to figure why there were no street names, and the layer suggestion wasn't the answer.

Can I use Google Earth to measure mileage?

I go running in my neighborhood and I am able to see my neighborhood on satellite and street view and all that on Google Earth. I'm sure there must be something to measure the mileage. Can someone tell me how to use this?|||Tools - Ruler. Click start point and drag mouse to end point.

Calculate route distances with google maps.

Is their any such thing of a google earth map showing people and cars moving?

Now I know about the Google earth 6 version with the street view. But on the video it says that it is only photos of the earth. Not actually people and cars moving.

So my question is their a Google map of people and cars moving on the map....ty??|||Unfortuneatly, no. Hopefully they'll create it though!|||How would they handle that? If you stayed in one place for ten minutes, how many people do you think should "walk" by? It's not live, you know. For one thing, it's always daylight. It's never night.

Sorry.|||No, but I'm sure it's in the works. Google is genius.
