How does Google Earth get the pictures for the street-level views?

I heard they got the pictures through satellites and aeriel photographs but I'm not sure. Does anyone really know?|||Google earth buy satellite pictures and they paste it on the google earth. That is why you find patches at most of the places in google earth. Depending on the importance of the place, they update the pictures. This was taken 10 years ago and it was created only for educational purposes and not to spy on another people. In some places where there is a reflective surface you can see the van.|||its true!!!!!!! they have satelites and the satilites take pics!!!!!!!!!!!
